Conflict coaching.
Unlike mediation, which is offered to both parties in a conflict, conflict coaching is a private, one-to-one service involving just one person and a coach. Conflict coaching is not a form of therapy or counseling. Its purpose is to enable clients to reflect on a difficult situation, their responses that situation, and to create different ways of responding to that situation. But like mediation, the goal is to empower the client; not to tell the client what to do or to substitute our judgement for that of the client.
A session will usually be for 1 hour. Typically, a client will receive between 1 and 3 conflict coaching sessions regarding a particular situation. The goal of each conflict coaching session is to empower the client to be able to deal with your the conflict at issue more effectively, thus making continued sessions less and less necessary.
